Although Knocknagoshel were the better team in the second half it was Beale who struck twice for goal in the opening minutes Connor Twoomey with a minute into the three quarter, now with five points up the neutral would think that's it game set and match. But no one told the Knocknagoshel men that and again Edmond Walsh converted a free, quickly added to by brother Michael it was now the Walsh show and Edmond again added a point from play to cancel out Beale goal, to leave just two between the sides. But with 10 minutes gone on the clock it was a opportunistic corner back Paul Collins who slipped into the square to fisted the ball into the top corner of the Knocknagoshel net five between the teams again. Beale added two more from free's from Cormac Linnane to bring seven points between the teams just before the final water break. After all the hard work of Knocknagoshel to be seven points down didn't reflect the true nature of the game, again the neutral thought this is surely it for Beale. But no, Knocknagoshel took over the remainder of the game on resumption, It took four minutes before the scoreboard moved and it was a superb goal from mid fielder Shane O Connell who gave a display of fielding throughout the game that would warm the heart. Now four points down, two frees converted by Edmond Walsh and still no reply from Beale, Knocknagoshel were now down by two again, what a fight back. It took Beale until the 28 minute of the second half to register a score a free converted by Cormac Linnane, but in quick reply captain Michael Walsh cancelled that out with a long range point from play, it was Beales sub Darragh Buckley who converted their final point of the game from a free in the 30th minute, Again Knocknagoshel fought and Niall Barrett who was moving well throughout the game gave an ambitious long range shoot and split the posts from the stand side of the pitch but we were into injury time and Knocknagoshel just ran out of time, the slow start to the game cost them on this occassion. And Beale now join Ballydonoghue and Brosna in the Semi Finals. Final Score Beale 2.14 v Knocknagoshel 2.12

STRONG SECOND HALF PERFORMANCE SEES BROSNA INTO SEMI-FINALS
Near neighbours Brosna and Duagh faced off on Saturday night last,Sept. 25th, under lights in Frank Sheehy Park, Listowel in the North Kerry C’ship Quarter-Final, sponsored by McMunn’s Bar and Restaurant, Ballybunion.Conditions were ideal on a crisp autumnal evening as referee Brendan Griffin threw in the ball.In a tight first half, Paul Walsh opened Brosna’s account from a mark in the 2nd min.Martin Scannell equalised from play after a great run by Donnacha Maher a minute later, before Paul Walsh pointed again off a mark.Adam Barry, who was to be the outstanding performer for Brosna on the night, stretched his sides lead with a brilliant point from play near the right sideline in the 5th min. Duagh took over at this stage and added three points from frees through Jason Carmody to give Duagh the lead 4pts to 3 in the 13th min. Wing-back Thomas Fitzgerald after a great run levelled matters at the first water break with a great point from play.Duagh lost Anthony Maher to a black card on the resumption and Brosna added 3pts through Tom McGoldrick(f) and Adam Barry(2 pts).Jason Carmody replied with a pointed free in the 30th min before Brosna were dealt a major blow, losing experienced wing-back Flor McAuliffe to a second yellow in first half injury time. The half-time score read Brosna 0-07 Duagh 0-05. Duagh placed their extra man to cover in defence and Brosna relocated star forward Adam Barry to wing-back.This may have seemed strange given how well he was playing upfront but it was Barry who opened the scoring in the second half from play and he proceeded to dominate the game from this position.Duagh captain Nigel O’ Connor replied in the 32nd min off his left from a tight angle. Brosna with Kieran O’ Donnell and Timmy Finnegan dictating matters around the middle made light of their numerical disadvantage and were asking questions of Duagh’s defence.Paul Walsh pointed a free after Barry was fouled and Jer Kelly in the Duagh goals had to make a great save in the 40th min.Martin Scannell pointed a free on 43mins before Brosna added 2 pts from play through Mike Finnegan and Adam Barry again to leave the score at the second water break Brosna 0-11 Duagh 0-07.Both sides made several substitutions and it was one of Brosna’s who was to have the greatest impact in Danny Moriarty who scored 1-01 for his side from play. The final quarter of the match was dominated by Brosna from the platform provided by their midfield and half-back line.Tom McGoldrick converted a free in the 50th min before Moriarty finished expertly after great work by Mike Finnegan. Duagh needed goals at this point but try as they did all they could generate was a point from substitute Dan O’ Donoghue in the 53rd min.Brosna continued to press forward and points from play through Moriarty and Mike Finnegan preceded a classy goal from Paul Walsh on the stroke of time to leave the final score at Brosna 2-14 Duagh 0-08 as Brosna became the second side along with Ballydonoghue to make the semi-finals of 2020.
