Duagh was the venue for the Round 3 Minor County C'ship game between Feale Rangers and Kerins O Rahillys last Tuesday evening 23rd July.On a perfect night for football,it was the Tralee side who were quickest to settle and should have had several scores on the board before David Keane pointed from play for the home side in the 13th minute.This was cancelled out immediately by a point from play by Cian Sayers.The remainder of the half was nip and tuck with each side scoring four more points,for Feale Rangers-Sean Gilbert,Rici Hanley,David Foran and David Keane(f) and for Strand Road-Jack Savage(0-03..1f) ans Gavin O Brien to leave the scores tied at 5pts a piece at the small whistle.

Rory Doyle,who had a fine game all through,scored a great point for Rahillys from the throw in and Jack Savage added 3 pts from frees.David Keane from a free,Darragh Leahy and Joe Coulson reduced the deficit to a point when Robert O Connor in the Rahillys goal made a great save from David Keane after a lovely move by Feale Rangers involving several players.Gavin O Brien put two points between the sides again before Darragh Leahy reduced it to the minimum again with what was to be Feale Rangers last score of the game.The final six minutes saw Rahillys add four more points-Jack Savage 2f and one each from play from Gary Nolan and David Nix to leave the final score Kerins O Rahillys 0-14 Feale Rangers 0-09.The winning margin did not flatter the Strand Road outfit who over the hour played with more energy and enthusiasm.The game was refereed by Denis O Sullivan,Scartaglin and compliments to the Duagh Club on the excellent condition of their pitch.

St Kieran's Castleisland - 1.17 - St Brendans 5.09

St Kieran's started well in this Round 3 tie in Castleisland, but when St Brendan's scored three consecutive goals in a matter of minutes they left Kieran's playing catch up throughout the remainder of the match.

Kieran's were in need of a goal and Colm Murphy found the net after Kieran's were awarded a penalty. However, this was the only goal that Kieran's got throughout the remainder of the match. St Brendan's secured two more goals which kept them in the lead, although Kieran's did manage to bring it to just four points on several occasions.

St Kieran's Colm Murphy pointed two fantastic fifty yard frees into the wind. Murphy had an excellent performance, alongside teammates Timmy Finnegan and Shane O'Connor. St Brendan's Ivan Parker was very impressive, scoring two goals and slotting over points edging his side further ahead each time.

The game could have had a major turning point when a quick free taken by St Kieran's Colm Murphy resulted in him finding the back of the net, however this goal was disallowed by the referee who argued that the free was taken too quickly.

East Kerry proved the stronger when they met Shannon Rangers in Spa on Tuesday evening. East Kerry had the majority of possession on the first half but Shannon Rangers finished the half with 2 unanswered points and there was only a margin of 5 points at half time with a scoreline of East Kerry 0-10 Shannon Rangers 0-5. The visitors reduced the margin to 3 points at the start of the second half. East Kerry increased the margin to 5. The sides traded points. Going into the last quarter, East Kerry took control, dominated the middle of the field and scored 2-5 without reply, the first goal by Gavin Kelly from a well worked forward run by Liam Kearney. Paudie Clifford finished the game as a contest, when he found the net for a second East Kerry goal. Final score: East Kerry 2-17 Shannon Rangers 0-8
