Duagh GAA Notes
GAA:The Duagh B team has progressed to the final of the Junior Championship
North Kerry Cup by virtue of a 4 point 1-12 to 1-8 win over Beale B on
Saturday last. Well done to all involved
SAM: As promised Anthony Maher
brought the Sam Maguire back to Duagh on Monday Dec 1st. Firstly the cup
went to Toddlers Centre then on to The Family Centre and Creche. While at
the Centre former Duagh GAA chairman and staunch GAA man Tom Sheehy called
in to greet Anthony and Sam. Though running way behind time Anthony and Sam
next went to Duagh NS where 220 cheering pupils greeted them. Here Anthony
spoke about sitting in the Duagh NS hall in 1997 when Sam visited. It left
a lasting impression on him and who knows he said maybe there were a few
future Kerry players looking up at him. Next the cup went to Kilcara
Nursing Home and again received a great welcome. The Duagh GAA club and
staff members of the various centres visited would like to thank Anthony
and wish him well for the future.
