Fixtures and results;
Knocknagoshel hosted Tarbert in round one of the County League on Sunday afternoon. Having dominated the opening stages the home side lead 6 points to no score at the midway point in the first half. Ger O’Sullivan added two points for Tarbert while Knocknagoshel had three points by Edmond Walsh in the remainder of the half. Half time: Knocknagoshel 0-9 Tarbert 0-2
Tarbert reduced the deficit to four points early in the second half with points from Ger O’Sullivan, Killian Langan and Patsy O’Connell but Knocknagoshel responded with points from Shane O’Connell and Edmond Walsh. With four minutes remaining Edmond Walsh found the net to end the game as a contest. Tarbert were awarded a penalty in injury time but Ger O’Sullivan’s effort was saved by Mike Casey. Final score: Knocknagoshel 1-14 Tarbert 0-9
Knocknagoshel will play Finuge in round two of the county league on Sunday 15th March at 2pm in Finuge.
Minors;
Knocknagoshel/Brosna/Duagh minors will play Castlegregory on Saturday 14th March at 4pm in Castlegregory. On St. Patricks Day Knock/Brosna/Duagh minors will play Firies at 4pm in Firies.
Lotto;
The lotto draw for a jackpot of €9,400 was held in Moynihans Bar on Saturday night last. The numbers drawn were 2,8,13 and 16. There was no winner of the jackpot. The five lucky dips of €30 each were won by Triona Keating Rathkeale, Michael Deenihan Brosna, Norma Cahill Knocknagoshel, Margaret Keane Knocknagoshel and Conor Hickey Knocknagoshel. The next draw will be for a jackpot of €9,500 and will be held in O’Connors Bar on Saturday 4th April. Tickets are available from Kieran’s XL, Supervalu Abbeyfeale, Dillanes shop Feales Bridge, the local bars and usual sellers. Our club lotto can also be played online by following the link on www.knocknagoshel.gaa.ie.
Coiste na nÓg Registration Day;
Knocknagoshel GAA will hold a registration day for families and juvenile members on Sunday 15th March at 12.15pm.
Knocknagoshel Clothes Collection;
Knocknagoshel GAA are holding an ongoing clothes collection to help raise funds for the club. Bags of clothes can be left into the white lorry container near the log cabin at the Football Field. Please note that nothing else is acceptable other than clothing, shoes and handbags
