Fixtures and results;
Knocknagoshel secured promotion to Division 4 of the County League with a comfortable win over an understrength Ballylongford team on Saturday evening. Knocknagoshel led three points to nil after 10 minutes with points from David O'Donoghue, Michael Keane and Edmond Walsh. Knocknagoshel went on to score 1-8 in the remainder of the half with John Walsh, Niall Barrett and Denis Collins scoring points and John O'Keeffe getting the goal. Knocknagoshel's defence was solid throughout and some fine defending by Gary Downey and Darragh O'Connell limited Ballylongford to a single Sean Kennelly point in the first half. Half time score: Ballylongford 0-1 Knocknagoshel 1-11. Ciaran O'Connor scored 0-7 for Ballylongford in the second half but Knocknagoshel kept the scoreboard ticking over with points by Michael Keane, Edmond Walsh, Kieran Downey and John Walsh. James Walsh scored a late goal for Knocknagoshel. Final score Ballylongford 0-10 Knocknagoshel 2-16.
Knocknagoshel Harvest Festival; A huge thank you to all who helped out with the running of this years festival. Great Community spirit was in evidence throughout the week and all events were well attended. Thanks to the local businesses who gave sponsorship without whom it would not be possible.
On Saturday 24th August the Knocknagoshel Pattern Rose selection will take place in O'Connor's Bar from 9pm. All proceeds to the Kerry/Cork Health Link Bus.
Lotto; The next draw will be for a jackpot of €8,800 and will be held in Moynihans Bar on Saturday 7th September.

Coiste na nÓg;
Knocknagoshel U-12's had a comprehensive victory over Castleisland Desmonds. It was encouraging to see Knocknagoshel fielding a team on their own at this age group for the first time in a number of years.
Congratulations to Jack McElligott who was on the Kerry North U-15 development squad who defeated Kildare recently.

Knocknagoshel GAA are holding an ongoing clothes collection to help raise funds for the club. Bags of clothes can be left into the white lorry container near the log cabin at the Football Field. All types of clothes are accepted as well as shoes, handbags, curtains & towels. Please note that duvets are not accepted.
