Semi Final Replay

Ballyduff  0.10 v Ballydonoghue 1.11

Bernard O Callaghan semi final replay  took place earlier today in Brosna

The opening minutes of this game went all Ballyduff way with three fast points from Jack O Sullivan Mikey Boyle and Padraig Boyle but then the Ballydonoghue boys got to grips with the strong wind and went on the attack with Jim Cremin raising his sides attack with a goal and a point in the first 10 mins Ballydonoghue went on a scoring spree with six more points from play before the half time whistle.  But with only 5 points between the sides and Ballyduff still looking dangerous in attack half time score Ballyduff 5pts Ballydonoghues 1.07

The second half and it started a more subdued affair with the first three scores on the board coming from frees two for Ballyduff and a point for Paul Kennelly Ballydonoghue. But with Ballyduff chasing the game going for goals early on and maybe should have been taking there points, it was Ballydonoghue always in control. But with 2 mins into injury time a penality awarded to Ballyduff was saved by Ballydonoghues number 1 Darragh O Shea for the final whistle to be blown for  repeat of two  years ago in the final full time score 1.11 Ballydonoghue to Ballyduffs 10 points The Final of the Bernard O Callaghan memorial senior football championship sponsored by McMunns Bar and Resturant  Ballybunion will take place on Sunday 9th December at 2.30pm  replay in the event of a draw Venue: Con Brosnan Park Moyvane.

Division 2 Final

Ballydonoghue   6-13    Ballylongford/Asdee  1-6

As the scoreline suggests this was a rather one sided affair with Ballydonoghue pretty much on top from the outset, while Bally/Asdee had some good individual performers they never really clicked on the day.

Ballydonoghue opened the scoring with a point from Emmet Kelly to set them on their way and two minutes later Man of the Match Jack Kennelly got in for the first of his three goals opening up an early lead.

Liam Mulvihill operating at full forward got Bally/Asdee off the mark with a pointed free.

Ballydonoghue continued to push forward at every opportunity and led by 17 points at half time

Ballydonoghue 4-9 Ballylongford/Asdee 0-4

The second half continued in a similar fashion with Ballydonoghue extending their lead through a Jack Kennelly goal in the second minute.

Pa Carmody interrupted the procession for Bally/Asdee when he drove a quickly taken free to the net.

Bally/Asdee kept battling to the final whistle but it was Ballydonoghue who ran out deserving winners.

North Kerry Board Chairman Johnny Stack presented the trophy to Captain and Man of the Match Jack Kennelly.
