Desmonds senior ladies Made the long trip to Edinburgh in Scotland over the weekend to play the local side Dunedin Connollys In The Tesco sponsored All Ireland Ladies Intermediate Quarter Final .
Desmonds played against the wind in the first half and started extremely well with two goals in quick succession by Andrea Murphy .
This was followed by 2 points from Leanne Mangan and one by Stephenie murphy .
The Scottish side upped the anty as Elaine Guiney saved what could have been a goal .This was followed by 2 points and then a goal for Dunedin and then 2 more points from them .
Fortunately Leanne Mangan and Lorraine Scanlon scored a point each before half time to give a half time score of 2-5 to 1-4
The second half started with both sides exchanging points Desmonds point coming from the boot of Leanne Mangan , things looked settled for the Desmonds when they added 3 more points from Stephanie Murphy , Rachel Cronin and Leanne Mangan .
However things started to look shakey when Dunedin put away another goal - leaving just 4 points between the teams .
Dunedin had the momentum and the banged in their second goal to come within a point of the visitors a quick pickup and a point by Marion Shine helped steady the ship
Leanne Mangan went on to score 2 More points and Lorraine Scanlon 3 point s along with one from Dunedin Connollys . Melissa Holland brought off a great save for Desmond s late in the game to Guarentee Desmonds a home semi final against The leinster Champions that game is scheduled for Castleisland on the Weekend of November 15/16

No winner of this weeks jackpot of 2100 Numbers drawn were 1 10 21 and 25 next weeks jackpot will be 2200.

Last Lotto draw took place in the Shoemaker's last Saturday night. The numbers drawn were 1, 10, 21 and 25. There was no winner of the â¬2,100 jackpot. Lucky dip prizes of â¬50 were won by Tara and Helen, Barracks Street and â¬30 each to Aine Kennedy, Ben Walsh, Tracey O Sullivan, Grainne Fitzgerald and Seamus O Neill.

The senior team play Listry next Sunday - 9th - in Castleisland at 2.00 p.m. in the final round of the county league. They play Ballydonoghue in the 1st round of the North Kerry championship the following Sunday - Nov 16th - in Listowel. Time to be confirmed.
