INTER COUNTY FOOTBALL
Congratulations to Louise Galvin and the Kerry Ladies Senior team on their great victory over Mayo in the All Ireland Quarter -Final in Birr last Saturday. Best wishes to Eamonn Fitzmaurice, Paul Galvin and the Kerry team as they take on Dublin in the All Ireland semi-final on Sunday.
FINUGE/ST SENANS LGFC
In the U15 county semi-final against John Mitchels played on Wednesday the 21st in Finuge the local girls put in a superb effort to emerge victorious on a score line of 5-13 to 3-3. After settling quickly and getting some fantastic scores from play, the girls went in at half-time leading by 2-6 to 0-3. Mitchells with an early second half goal briefly threatened to make a game of it but Finuge/StSenans found another gear to pull away and run out very convincing winners.
The U13 game played on Friday 23rd in Finuge saw the U13 team also advance to the county final defeating Abbeydorney 5-14 to 2-7. Following an extremely close and competitive opening half the score line at the break saw the team's level at 1-8 to 2-5 and a very tight second half seemed certain. Finuge/StSenans however produced an outstanding display in the second half and totally overpowered Abbeydorney.
Well done to both teams and hopefully the club's recent bad luck in finals is about to change.
