It’s a local derby when Beale play Asdee on Sunday afternoon in Páirc de Staic. The teams go head-to-head in the last round match of Group 3 of the County Junior Club Championship in Ballybunion. Throw in is at 2.30. Neither team will qualify for the quarter finals. We are currently bottom of the table, having lost our first two games.

Beale juniors contest the North Kerry Intermediate Cup. Other teams in this championship are St Senans, Desmonds, Emmetts, Ballydonoghue and Moyvane. Fixtures will be issued at later date.

There was no jackpot winner in this week’s Beale Lotto. The numbers drawn were 17, 20, 24 and 31. Luck dip winners each win €25: John Horgan and Eddie Purtill (online), William Bunyan and Seán Lynch. Next week’s jackpot is €1,500. The draw takes place on Monday night in The Feale Bar at 9 o’clock. A huge ‘míle buíochas’ to everyone who supports and promotes the Beale Lotto.

Spectators were treated to great displays of skill by young footballers in the annual Eóin Griffin Memorial tournament on Sunday. Four superb teams, Beale, Asdee-Bally, Ballydonohue and Tarbert competed for the annual trophy. Beale came out on top after a great final with Tarbert. The trophy returned to the seaside after a 5-year break. Proud Beale captain, Aidan Spillane, was presented with the trophy by members of the Griffin family.

Well done to all our young players. Special thanks to referees, Patrick O’Sullivan and James Buckley. The Griffin family is synonymous with Beale GAA and we are grateful for their support of the annual tournament in memory of Eóin. His passion for football was fierce and Eóin enjoyed playing for his school, Kilconly, and club, Beale. Eóin is dearly missed by his loving family and large circle of friends and neighbours. We are proud that his memory lives on in the club.

Not only a great day of football, special guests, the Sam Maguire cup, Ogie Moran and Diarmuid O’Connor visited the club before the tournament got under way. We are grateful to them for making this occasion even more special. Players and families were thrilled to have photos taken with our special guests.

The draw for the North Kerry Football Championship will take place on Friday at 8 o’clock in McMunn’s, Ballybunion. The draw will be streamed live on the North Kerry Board Facebook page also. Greg and Una Ryan, of McMunn’s, kindly sponsor the North Kerry Senior Championship.
