Split the Bucket

Congratulations to this week’s Split the Bucket winners Will & Esther Hagan from Cheshire England who were in Listowel last weekend celebrating the wedding of their friends Kevin & Marcel Smith. Will was Kevin’s best man and bought their €1,220 winning ticket in The Shebeen Bar. Thanks to Liam and all the businesses for their support and everyone who continues to contribute to our Split the Bucket, our next draw is Tuesday 6^th September.

Congratulations to the North Kerry Minor team who are now County Champions after a fine display in the replay of the final on Monday night last in Austin Stack Park. The North Kerry men put in a slick display in the opening quarter led by the impressive Eddie Healy captain, Evan Boyle and Oisin Healy. The opening half was a joy to watch with some fine scores from both sides as North Kerry raced into a six point lead after 10 mins, Mid Kerry responded well with a goal from Duffey to leave the half time score North Kerry 0-13 Mid Kerry 1-7. On the resumption, the swirling wind picked up in Austin Stack Park as both sides found it difficult to take their scores. The North Kerry full back line (Tarbert duo of David Mulvihill, Conor Egan and Thomas Kelly Emmets ) weathered the storm gallantly as the never ending attack from Mid Kerry continued, a point from Evan Boyle saw North Kerry ahead by two. In the dying minutes of injury time Man of the Match Oisin Healy fed by Luke Rochford hit the back of the Mid Kerry net to leave the leave the full time score North Kerry 1-16 Mid Kerry 1-11. Huge congratulations to the North Kerry team and especially to our Emmets players Eddie Healy, Thomas Kelly, Pa Walsh, Aaron Carey, Rob Heffernan, Aaron Kennelly Brian Scanlan manager and Conor O’Neill S&C.
