Beale seniors had the upper hand on Duagh on Saturday evening in the County League, Division 4. Both teams served up a good, competitive game but we always had the edge in play and on the scoreboard.

 While we seemed to be in charge throughout, we lived dangerously towards the end. 5 points up with 5 minutes to go against 14-man Duagh, it looked like we were well on our way. However, complacency set in and we were slow to move the ball out of defence. Duagh duly punished, grabbed the opportunity, turned the ball over and brought us back to a goal. They then converted from the penalty spot to draw level.

 It looked like the match was drawn but luckily, we stormed up the field to pop over a delightful, winning point. We emerged victorious by the narrowest of margins, 1-10 to 1-09. These two valuable points put us in sixth position on the table. We now look forward to hosting Knocknagoshel in mid-May.

 Tarbert are our opponents in the opening round of Group 3 of the County Junior Club Championship. We await details.

 We look forward to seeing Beale lads, Con Fitzsimons, Jack Mallon and Michael Dunworth in action when Ballyduff minors host Emmetts on Bank Holiday Monday in the opening round of the North Kerry League, Division 1. They travel to Castleisland on May 9thand to Moyvane on 16th.

 The numbers drawn on Monday night for this week’s Beale Lotto were and 3, 23, 25 and 32. There was no jackpot winner and no Match-3 winners. Luck Dip winners, Podge Holly and Phyllis Prendergast (online), Martin Costelloe and ‘The Limerick Girls’, each won €25.
