Beale juniors have secured a place in the final of the North Kerry League, Division 3. We were the underdogs going into the semi-final last Tuesday, having lost three games and with just two points on the table, while Ballydonoghue had not conceded a game. At the final whistle, the score read: Beale 2-11, Ballydonoghue 2-8. This win could be described as payback time as we had fallen to a stronger Ballydonoghue team in last year’s semi-final. We play Moyvane in the final on Tuesday, May 28th.

Beale juniors continued winning form when we defeated Clounmacon in the first round of the County Junior League, Group 5. Victory was sweet on Friday evening, when we executed a 15-point turnaround. We were up against it in the opening half and were hanging on to our opponents’ coat tails at the interval. With a changed game plan and tactical play, we set about a Lazarus-like resurrection in the second half, turning a 9-point deficit into a 6-point victory. The final score read 1-15 to 2-6. Our next game is on Friday, May 31st, when we host Desmonds in Pâirc de Staic at 7.30. Then on June 21st we travel to Mountcoal to play St Senans. Our last two games will be against Moyvane and Churchill in July.

Beale seniors make the trip to Kenmare on Sunday for a 2 o’clock throw-in against Shamrocks B in round 4 of the County League, Division 5A. Currently topping the table, with three wins from three games, we will be looking to continue our winning way. June is a busy month with games against Miltown-Castlemaine B, Scartaglin and Dingle B. Our final two games will be against Kerins O‘Rahillys B and Dr Crokes C in July.

Regrettably, due to the unavailability of many players, we have had to withdraw from the County Under-17 Club 9-a-Side Competition.

Beale GAA host our annual Golf Classic on Bank Holiday Monday on the Cashen Course, Ballybunion Golf Club. Teams of four will compete for the Mick Holly Perpetual Trophy. Entries and enquiries to John Hennessy on (087) 923 7368‬.

Best of luck from Beale GAA to students awaiting results of college exams and those sitting the upcoming Leaving Cert and Junior Cert exams.
