STARS IN THEIR EYES.

As with many clubs in rural Ireland, St. Marys, Asdee aredoing their best to keep the club and the local community spirit alive. So itis hoped through the following event the club can hope to achieve that; andprogress the plans to further enchance the facilities at Jack Walsh Park.

So the Club will be hosting the third and final “Stars In Their Eyes” in the Asdee Community Centre onSunday May 5th with the show kicking off at 8pm.After anothermassively popular night last year , it is back by popular demand promising tobe a night of fun filled entertaintment. As with the previous years, acts fromaround North Kerry will go head to head to win either the judges prize or thepopular vote. The club is seeking sponsorship from people and businesses in thearea with whome we our members have dealt or continue to do business with. Toacquire your advertising space in the programme the Club are looking for E25, fora quarter page, E50 for a half a page and E100 for a full page sponsorship. Theclub  would greatly appreciate yourcontribution to help in making this a successful venture. GOLDEN GOAL  Week 8 winners in ourFundraisers”Golden Goal”  were;  Conor Coughlan, Cork and Raymond Keane,Glounawillian, Asdee who will each receive E40 to be given out each week to thewinning number that corresponds with the first goal scored. This is inconjunction with upcoming Fixtures in both National Football and HurlingLeagues and Championship; (Televised games). Tickets are now available and willbe on sale each week for the duration of both National League and Championshipfrom Club members and at the usual outlets; “Jack Jays” Bar and John Pius at E2each.

UNDER 16s

ABBC  4-14   St. Senans 4-5. Played at O Rahilly Park, Ballylongford on Monday evening last Asdee/Ballylongford//Ballydonoghue/Clounmacon took on St. Senans in thefirst round of the North Kerry Under 16 League Division 1. The combination teamgot off to a flyer and with B. Keane in magnificent scoring form finishing thegame with a personel tally of 2-11 they held a comfortable lead at the break by4-8 to 0-5. C.O Donoghue struck for the two remaining goals. On the changeoverit looked like the home team would cruise to victory but the visitors had otherideas and proceeded to take the game to their opponents and hit the net on noless than four occasions. However the home team overall played some lovelyfootball; weathered the storm and a further eight points secured an impressivewin.

FIXTURES. KerryPetroleum Junior Club Championship Asdee are in Group 2 along with Beale,Moyvane and Reenard.  Next up will be adate with our near neighbours Beale or Reenard on the weekend of April 13t/14th. McCarthys Insurance Brokers SeniorFootball League Division 2;  Semi Final;Asdee v Duagh. Sunday May 19th. Venue and time to be confirmed. NextCounty League Division 5 fixture will be a home game against Rathmore onSat/Sun. May 11/12th.
