Senior County League

Firies  5-19    Ballylongford  0-6

Ballylongford suffered their heaviest defeat to date with an away game played at Farranfore on Saturday evening.

The early exchanges saw little between the sides in terms of possession but Ballylongford failed to convert all but one of their chances, while the homeside were much more efficient in front of goal and were six points to one ahead at the end of the first quarter with Jeremiah Tydings accounting for our opening point.

The game took a turn for the worst for the visitors between the 18th and 23rd minute when they conceded 3-1 after there kickouts were intercepted which effectively  killed the game as a contest with the goals coming from Mike Daly,Jake Flynn and Donnacadh O'Sullivan who also added a fourth three minutes later leaving the half time score

Firies 4-12 Ballylongford 0-1

Michael Lynch got Ballylongford off the mark in the 1st minute with a well taken point but Firies kept the scoreboard ticking over and brought on a full complement of subs before Ciaran O'Connor kicked over their second point in the 18th minute, further points were added by Padraig O'Neill,Stephen Foley and Joe McCarthy while Diarmuid O'Mahony finished out the scoring for Firies  with their fifth goal on the stroke of full time.

Ballydonoghue/Ballylongford/Asdee 3-6 Finuge 2- 9.
Played in wind and rain in stacks Park Ballybunion on Monday evening, both sides served up an entertaining game with Finuge kicking over an injury time free to draw the game.
Finuge with the aid of the wind were leading 1-7 to 1-2 at half time.
The combination side battled back and eventually went ahead in the 25th minute, but Finuge who also scored 1-2 against the wind brought the game level and a draw was a fair result given the conditions they endured.
Referee John Ross.

Ballylongford/Asdee/Ballydonoghue 1-15 Finuge 1-11
Leading eight points to two at half time after playing with the wind didn't seem like enough of a lead against a strong Finuge side, but the combination side added a further 1-7 in the second half to record an impressive victory.
