Beale seniors threw off the shackles of our recent run of defeat with a good win over  Scartaglin on Saturday evening in the County League, Division 4. After a low-key first half, we went into the interval with a 2-point cushion, 0-4 to 0-2. Our opponents closed the gap to one point on the changeover but we kicked on from there and two goals clenched victory for Beale on a scoreline of 2-9 to 0-4. The team lined out as Seán Dee, Philly Blake, Colm Kissane, Fionnán Toomey, Ian Mannix, Paul Collins, Shane Joy, Jeremy King, Neilus Mulvihill, Jake O'Connell, Ger O'Gorman, Cormac Linnane, Darragh Buckley, James McMahon and Tom Joy. Substitutes, Barry O'Mahony for Jake O'Connell, Rory Mulvihill for Ian Mannix, Colm Carolan for Tom Joy, Gearóid Costello for James McMahon, Tommy O'Neill for Paul Collins, John M Horgan for Fionnán Toomey. Supporters watched the game from the new stand which had been completed earlier that day.


Our next game is on Saturday evening when we travel to play Skellig Rangers. Throw in at 7 o'clock. We await details of the quarter final of the County Novice Club Championship against Moyvane. Ian Blake has taken over as manager of the senior team, assisted by selectors, Maurice Mannix, John Brennan and Liam Browne.


Beale minors travel to Coolard to play Ballydonoghue on Monday, July 17th, at 7.30. A date has yet to be confirmed for the final of the North Kerry Junior League, Division 4B, between Beale and Ballyduff. 


Shannon Rangers minors lost out to Feale Rangers in the losers round of the County Championship in Mountcoal last Tuesday evening. Beale players on the Shannon Rangers team included Fionnán Toomey, Tommy O'Neill and Calum McSweeney, David Hennessy and Fintan Linnane.
