NIGHT AT THE DOGS: Very important meeting at The Thatch on Thursday night June 22nd at 8:30pm.

It is vital that all interested in the future of Ballydonoghue GAA attend. With only three weeks remaining we need to know where we stand in relation to monies raised so far. We need to know what race sponsors we have, what dog nominations and dog sponsors we already have who has bought and how many buster tickets have been sold so that we are not approaching people again who have already committed to supporting the night. Only then will we be able to organise a final push in the remaining few weeks.

BALLYDONOGHUE GAA FUNDRAISING NIGHT AT THE DOGS 15TH JULY 2017.

Ballydonoghue GAA are embarking on an exciting development of our clubhouse, renovating the existing building including new dressing rooms and showers, plus adding on a new all- purpose room and public toilets.

There are many expenses connected with running a club with more than 10 teams, but thanks to the people who buy and sell the Lotto tickets every week, we are generally able to meet the costs.

The club is now appealing to everybody from the parish, at home and abroad, to support this project.

RESULTS: Co. SFL Div3 Rd6 Ballydonoghue 2-14. St. Senans 1-13.

Only one point separated these two sides before the throw-in and a win here for either side would lift the winner clear of the bottom three of the league table.

St Senans opened straight from the throw in with a Cathal Kennelly point. From the kickout Ballydonoghue broke down field where full forward Padraig Lyons fielded a great ball before rifling to the Senans net. Senans followed with points from a Sean O’Connell free and Cathal Kennelly from play. Senans were looking that bit sharper at this early stage. Ten minutes into the half with Senans leading by a point Adrain O’Mahony was black carded for impeding a Ballydonoghue player’s run after he had laid off the ball. A Padraig Lyons free and a Jim Cremin point from play had Ballydonoghue a point in front at the end of the first quarter. Shortly afterward David Foran was on the end of a move started by himself to finish to the bottom corner of the Ballydonoghue net. Ballydonoghue added five more points before the break, two from Padraig Lyons and one apiece from Padraig Enright, Paul Kennelly and Eamon Walsh. To St Senans three, two from Sean O’Connell and one from Cathal Kennelly. HT. Ballydonoghue 1-7. St. Senans 1-6.

Two minutes into the second half the sides were level from a Sean O’Connell free. It was nip and tuck for most of the third quarter with the game swinging from end to end in the soaring heat both sides moving the ball at pace and setting up some well worked scores. As we approached the final quarter Ballydonoghue looked to have gained the upper hand and led 1-12 to1-7. But Senans weren’t giving up just yet and kicked four points on the trot without reply. Only a point between the teams with a little over five minutes remaining Jim Cremin and Sean Weir then exchanged points. Then with only minutes left in normal time a ball sent in around the square looked to be covered by the St.Senans keeper but it bounce off his chest into the hands of the awaiting Padraig Lyons and he finished to the net to leave four points between the sides with time almost up. Both teams then kicked a point apiece in injury time but it was Ballydonoghue’s day and a valuable two points in the bag. Final Score Ballydonoghue 2-14. St.Senans 1-13.
