BALLYDONOGHUE GAA FUNDRAISING NIGHT AT THE DOGS 15TH JULY 2017.

Ballydonoghue GAA are embarking on an exciting development of our clubhouse, renovating the existing building including new dressing rooms and showers, plus adding on a new all- purpose room and public toilets. The proposed development will cost approx. €250,000.

The club was established circa 1924. Thousands of players have played for the club since then, representing  teams from under 8 to senior.  We are proud of our contribution to the local area and the lives of people who have passed through the club. Over the past twenty years we have had tremendous success at under age level and we are current senior North Kerry Champions. We have had players selected to represent Kerry  at all levels and we have had tremendous success at Scor. The club facilities are used by other organisations, groups and schools in the parish.

There are many expenses connected with running a club with more than 10 teams, but thanks to the people who buy and sell the Lotto tickets every week, we are generally  able to meet the costs.

The club is now appealing to everybody from the parish, at home and abroad, to support this project.

FIXTURES: Co Senior League Div3 round 5. Ballydonoghue away to Fossa on Sat June 10th at 7:30pm.

Next game in Co Junior league is round 4 Ballydonoghue B v Na Gaeil B in Coolard on Friday June 23rd T 7:30pm.

RESULTS: Co SFL Div3 Rd4 Ballydonoghue 1-11. Ballymac 1-18.

Ballymacelligott had a comprehensive win over a Ballydonoghue team decimated by injuries and summer transfers. That saw Ballymac never look in any real danger in this fourth round Div 3 encounter.
There was little between the sides in the early stages and the sides were level after 11 mins three points apiece. Ballymac then began to settle into their stride dominating the midfield area and led by double scores after 18mins six points to three. Ballydonoghue then kicked two points in quick succession one apiece from their two best players on the day Padraig Lyons and Jim Cremin. Ballydonoghue’s revival was short lived when Ballymac’s Adam Breen struck for their only goal and the score that would separate the sides at the break. HT BallyD 0-7. Ballymac 1-7.
Ballymac kicked three points without reply early in the second half and with Cian Counihan in fine form at centrefield their forwards were getting a plentiful supply of ball to work with. Vinnie Horgan in particularly making good use of everything that came his way. After 49mins they led by six points and would have been much more if not for a solid display from Ballydonoghue goalkeeper Darren O’Connor and a fine display of free taking by full forward Padraig Lyons.
Ballymac then seemed to take their foot of the pedal and when Padraig Lyons struck for a Ballydonoghue goal there was only two points between the sides with eight minutes remaining. If Ballydonoghue supporters thought a comeback was on the cards they were sadly mistaken as Ballymac lifted their game again kicking five points without reply in the final minutes. Final Score Ballydonoghue 1-11       Ballymac 1-18.
