Tarbert GAA   14/11/2016

North Kerry Championship : Tarbert produced on of their better performances of the season when they overcame a spirited Moyvane challenge in the quarter final of the North Kerry championship played in Ballylongford last Sunday. It was Moyvane who opened the scoring with two points before a free from Andrew Doherty and a good score by Shane O’Connor levelled the scoring after ten minutes. Moyvane went up another point before Doherty levelled again with another free and then added another point to put Tarbert up one. The crucial score of the game then came in the 20th minutes when a well positioned Micheal Carrig rattled the Moyvane net to put Tarbert up 1-4 to 0-3. Two more points by Tarbert put them well in control at half time on a scoreline of 1-6 to 0-4. Finbarr Carrig got the opening score of the second half to extend Tarbert lead and with Tarbert backs playing particularly well Moyvane scores were at a premium. Another point by Micheal Carrig and an excellent long range point by full back Ambrose Lanigan sealed a very good display by Tarbert who won on a scorline of 1-15 to 0-8. It was a great team performance who lined out as follows John Kennedy, Michael Heaphy, Ambrose Lanigan (0-1), Jason Wren, Noel Kennnedy, Shane Enright, Danny Wren, Micheal Normile, Kevin Enright, Sean Carrig, Mark Buckley, Shane O’Connor (0-5), Andrew Doherty (0-6), Donal Leahy, Finbarr Carrig(0-1), Subs Micheal Carrig (1-1), Sean Holly, Jack Healy, Brendan Cregan, Evan Allen, Killian Langan, Gerald O’Sullivan.
