Asdee GAA   13/09/2016

CHAMPIONSHIP DRAW.  The North Kerry Football Championship draws which
was due to take place on Friday September 2nd had to be postponed and
is now re-scheduled to  go ahead on Friday September 23rd commencing
at 8pm sharp.  The venue  once again will be McMunns Hotel and
Restaurant  Ballybunion where Greg and Una have once again kindly
sponsored this event for several years. Asdee will be entering the
senior draw  for the 11th year. Remaining draws to take place on the
night will be the Minor, Under 21, Intermediate, Junior and Novice
championships. Asdee and Bally will be competing together at both
Minor and Under 21 competitions. Local Club delegates, Secretary Mark
O Hanlon and former Secretary  and Club Referee Patsy Coughlan will be
representing the club .

UNDER 13s.  Our combination side travelled to Finnerty Park, Mountcoal
on Wednesday evening last to take on St. Senans in a preliminary round
of the Tommy Madden Memorial Cup which is organised by the North Kerry
Coiste Na Nog  in Association with the Madden family. Senans have been
one of the top teams each year and have captured the Tommy Madden
Memorial Plaque on several occasions  since it was first played for in
2004; however Bally/Asdee have never actually won outright but they
will still have to wait another year at least to fullfill that dream
as the boys from the Halfway were much too good on the evening. It was
a very one sided game with the home team on top in almost every sector
of the field; taking the lead early on and were never at any stage in
danger of defeat. However on saying that Asdee/Bally had a good few
chances to score goals and points but unfortunately they never took
those opportunities. At half time the score was Asdee/Bally 0-3 to St
Senans 1-5. The second half St Senans once again took over and they
scored 4-2 which brought their final tally to 5-7 and Asdee 6pts with
Brendan Keane our chief scorer. Referee Mike Joy, Ballydonoghue.
The Asdee Panel was : Niall O Connor, Michael Tracey, Darragh Healy,
Oran O Neill, Michael Hannon, Patrick Mulvihill, Paddy O Neill, Adam
Finucane, Oisin Healy, Liam Connolly, Bobby McCarronn, Brendan Keane,
Pauric Fogarty, Jack Hannon, Eoin Kelliher, Liam Walsh, Sean O Connor,
Ethan McDonald.
Referee was Mike Joy from Ballydonoghue

COUNTY FINAL.. Once again there was a huge contingent of local support
who travelled to Austin Stack, Park, Tralee on Sunday last to cheer on
the Duffers against Kilmoyley in the Garveys Super Value County Senior
Hurling Championship Final. It was a magnificent game that finished all
square thanks to a massive long range free with the last puck of the
game by Ballyduffs Padraig Boyle. Ballyduff 2-14  Kilmoyley 1-17. The
eagerly awaited replay is scheduled to go ahead at Austin Stack Park
on Saturday September24th.
