This game was played last Saturday in Coolard with a quick start from Ballydonoghue's return from a long injury corner forward Paul Kennelly in the first 30 seconds with a point. Ballylongford's wing forward Liam McEilligot won the kickout and went straight in at speed to fire the ball over the bar in the 2nd minute again Ballylongford went on the attack with a great long distance point in the 3rd minute form the boot of Joe McCarthy. The play went up and down the pitch until the 6th minute when Ballydonoghues Paul Kennelly again fired a ball over the bar to keep his team in touch. 30 seconds later Ballylongfords centre forward Jerimaiah Tydings pointed. It took until the 10th minute for the next score which came from the boot of Ballylongford's mid feilder Eammon McEilligot, in quick reply Ballydonoghue's centre forward Jim Cremin pointed in th 17th minute. It was all Ballylongford at this stage and again wing forward Joe McCarthy took a shot from the 45 region which floated over the bar in the 19th minute this was to be Ballylongfords last score of the half. Ballydonoghue's next score came in the 20th minute from wing back Patrick Kennelly, in the 24th minute Paul Kennelly pointed and at the final whistle Jim Cremin pop the ball over the bar in the 30th minute to bring the half time score Ballydonoghue 0.06 - Ballylongford 0.05
Second half starts and it's Ballylongford who first on the sore board with a point from full forward Kenneth Foley in the first minute. The play went from one goal to the other when in the 2nd minute Ballydonoghue's Paul Kennelly point, Ballylongford replied in the 4th minute with a point from Jereimaih Tydings, In the 5th minute Ballydonoghue replied again when corner forward Robert McGregor pointed. But this is where Ballydonoghue upped their game and in the 7th minute Robert McGregor rattled the Ballylongford net for the first goal of the game, 30 seconds later Ballydonoghue's Paul Kennelly split the posts. A vital mistake made by the Ballylongford back's who were caught ball watching when Ballydonoghues mid feilder struck for a second goal in the 10th minute. In reply Jeremaih Tydings Ballylongford split the posts in the 11th minute to keep his side in touch. But the impressive Paul Kennelly went on to score two more points one in the 16th minute and a free in the 23rd minute and mid feilder Thomas Kennelly pointed in the 18th minute for Ballydonoghue.
