Credit Union Senior Football League Playoffs

There were a number of important Senior Football League Playoffs down for decision over the Bank Holiday weekend to decide outstanding Promotion and Relegation issues:

Division 1 Relegation Playoff – Milltown- Castlemaine are Relegated

St Marys 0-22

Milltown–Castlemaine 0-10

St Marys had it all their own way at Glenbeigh as they preserved their Division 1 status and by doing so confined Milltown-Castlemaine to Division 2 football next season along with Austin Stacks and Castleisland Desmonds. With Bryan Sheehan and Sean Cournane contributing 9 points between them St Marys led by 11 points to 5 at the break and they went to on stretch that lead on the restart. Points from Jack McCarthy (2) and Shane Murphy reduced the deficit to 5 points but that was as good as it got as Bryan Sheehan kept firing over frees to eventually end up with 14 points and secure their status almost singlehandedly.
