This Division 2 game played in Listry on Saturday evening August 12th resulted in a win for the visitors, Ardfert, on the scoreline Listry 0-9 Ardfert 0-14. 

Ardfert started the brighter, scoring a point from John Egan and were on top for the first quarter with further points from Egan (2), Shane Griffin and Eoghan Courtney to Listry’s 2 points from Ronan Buckley to leave the score at 5 points to 2 in Ardfert’s favour. Listry came more into the game at this point but failed to put scores on the board. During this period Listry dropped 3 balls into the goalkeepers hands and were guilty of shooting from too far out. 

In the second quarter 2 points from Anthony Kennedy and a point from Peader Keane left them with 5 points at half time to Ardfert’s 9 points, their scores from John Egan (2), Shane Griffin and Daithi Griffin.

Listry started the second half much the better team and 2 quick points from Ronan Buckley and Gary O Sullivan saw them close the gap but two opportunities for points and a great chance of a goal were left go a begging.

Gradually Ardfert came back into the game and points from John Egan (2) Kevin Shanahan and Daithi Griffin completed their scoring and points from Ronan Buckley and Joe Clifford saw the final score Listry 0-9 to Ardfert 0-14.

This result saw Listry relegated after two years in this division and victory will mean that Ardfert are probably safe for another year.
