Kerins O’Rahillys got two vital points in their fight against possible relegation following their victory over St Mary's in Cahersiveen on Saturday evening.


In the very first attack of the game Kerins O'Rahilly's full forward Tom Hoare finished brilliantly to the net and they followed with a point by Con Barrett to have them 4 points up after only 1 minute. Liam O’Connell had Mary's first point after 3 minutes and in a very free flowing game both sides traded points to leave it 1-4 to 0-3 after 15 mins. 


Then in the 18th and 20th minutes two great saves by the Kerins O'Rahilly's keeper Gary Kissane kept the Tralee side in the game and Rahilly's went in at half time leading 1-7 to 0-7.


A purple patch by Kerins O'Rahilly's between the 7th minute and the 11th minute of the second half resulted in them scoring 1-5 without reply – the goal from Tom Hoare -  which finished the game as a contest. 


With 10 minutes left Rahilly's led by 11points but a late rally by St. Mary's scoring 2 goals in the process from Paul O’Donoghue and Darragh O’Sullivan brought the game back to 4 points at the final whistle.


Best for Kerin's O'Rahilly's were Gary Kissane, Danny O’Sullivan, Con Barrett, Tom Hoare & John Keane. 


A disappointing St. Mary's were best served by Adam Quirke, Conor O’Shea, Daragh O’Sullivan, Liam O’Connell, Paulie O’Donoghue and sub Jack Daly.
