Brosna 1-11 Ballymacelligott 0-24

 Ballymacelligott secured promotion to Division 2 following a comprehensive win over Brosna last Saturday evening. This was a very impressive performance from Ballymacelligott and Brosna simply couldn't live with them at times. Ballymacelligott didn’t have it all their own way with Brosna dominating the opening half with great scores from Denis McAuliffe and Patrick Moriarty. However Ballymacelligott stayed in touch with good scores from Aidan Breen and Vinnie Horan. Flor McAuliffe then netted a brilliant goal to leave Brosna leading by 1-4 to 0-4 with 20 minutes played. Both teams exchanged scores to leave 2 between the sides at the half time whistle

 Ballymacelligott really came out a more dominant team in the second half and kicked 5 unanswered points with some great running at the Brosna defence. However Brosna fought hard and Patrick Moriarty added 2 further points followed by a great long range score from Eamon Prendville near the sideline to leave the scores 1:9 to 16 with 15 mins left on the clock. Brosna then suffered a major blow losing Tom McGoldrick to injury and Ballymacelligott were very determined to seal the victory and kicked 5 unanswered points 2 of which coming from Vinnie Horan to seal the game as a contest. Both teams did exchange scores in the final period but it was Ballymacelligott who secured a well deserved win on a scoreline of 1:11 to 0:24
