Ardfert            2. - 12              Legion 1 - 15

This game was played in Ardfert on Sunday last in ideal conditions.  Ardfert took on table toppers Legion and made a great start, scoring the first three points.  Shane and David Griffin and Cian Hussey were the scorers.  Ardfert played very well in this half and were 1-06 to three points ahead after twenty minutes.  Conor Keane, Jamie O'Sullivan and Cathal Sheahan scored for Legion. Bobby O'Regan scored the Ardfert goal. However, a long ball in caused chaos in the Ardfert full back line, with the ball finishing in the net.  Legion added two more points from Conor Culloty and Jamie O'Sullivan. The half time score was Ardfert 1-07 Legion 1-05.

The second half was a very tough encounter, with both sides giving everything they had.  There were mistakes made by both sides.  After ten minutes, there was only one point between the sides.  John Egan and Jerry Wallace scored for Ardfert, while Cathal Sheahan and Jamie O'Sullivan scored for Legion.  Ardfert were then awarded a lifeline, when John Egan found Shane Griffin who palmed to the net, to give them a four point advantage.  Legion replied with two good points from Conor Keane and John Egan scored a free to leave three points between the sides.  Legion’s corner back Cathal Sheahan made great runs up the field and added two more valuable points for his club, to make it a one point game.  David Griffin, who thankfully recovered after a very dangerous tackle, increased Ardfert’s lead, but Legion were soon level, following points by Conor Culloty and Conor Keane.  Final score Ardfert 2 -12 Legion 1 - 15.  Jerry Wallace put in a massive performance for Ardfert, their backs were also on form. Legion’s corner back Cathal Sheahan did very well scoring three great points.
