Cordal 1-13 Rathmore 0-13

Cordal took on the Rathmore B team on Sunday the 16th of July in Cordal's home grounds. Under blissful conditions, the Cordal team had a strong opening, clocking up three points in the first five minutes with one scored by Philip O'Connor and the other two by Brian Reidy. The first half continued with points to and fro between both teams.  It was Philip O'Connor's crucial goal on the 11th minute, that gave Cordal its edge against Rathmore for the duration of the half.   The final few minutes played out similarly to the opening of the first half. Cordal's Philip O'Connor, Brian Reidy and Kieran O'Donoghue each added points to Cordal's tally. Half time gave the Cordal side a six point lead at 1-07 to Rathmore’s 0-04.

The second half kicked off in reverse to the first, this time it was Rathmore that opened the half by clocking up three points.  These points were scored by Mark Reen and Dean Fitzgerald.  Kieran O'Donoghue got a point in for Cordal in the seventh minute, before Rathmore kicked in two more.  The fourth quarter saw Cordal back on form and they managed to maintain a three point lead, whilst preventing Rathmore from scoring a goal. Both sides missed major scoring opportunities, but by the final whistle Cordal had

maintained their lead and finished three points ahead with 1-13 to 0-13
