Daingean Uí Chúis 1-11 to 2-9 Rathmore

Rathmore will be the happier side after securing a late one point win in misty and rain soaked Páirc an Ághasaigh against Dingle, Dingle 1-11 to 2-9 Rathmore.  Points from Jack O’Sullivan, Breandán Kelliher and two from Cathal Bambury gave Dingle a great start. Rathmore responded with points from John Moynihan and George O’Keeffe, before John Moynihan scored a goal for Rathmore. The score after 15 minutes played was, Dingle 0-4 to 1-2 Rathmore.

Dingle responded with points from Brian O’Connell, Barry O’Sullivan, Micheál Slattery and Jack O’Sullivan. Rathmore’s John Moynihan and Dingle’s Cathal Bambury exchanged points before Rathmore’s Mark Reen kicked a point just before the half hour.  When the Referee Michael Hennessy blew the whistle for halftime, the scoreboard in Páirc an Ághasaigh read, Dingle 0-9 to 1-4 Rathmore.

As the mist descended and the rain got heavier, the second half began.  Dingle started the scoring with a Micheál Slattery goal after a great run through the heart of the Rathmore defence by Patrick O’Connor.  The score after 15 minutes played in the second half was, Dingle 1-9 to 1-4 Rathmore.  Dingle’s Micheál Slattery was unlucky not to have another goal, but his shot was blocked by Rathmore’s George O’Keeffe.  Johnny B Brosnan kicked a point for Dingle and Conor O’Sullivan kicked a point for Rathmore. Then Billy O’Connor kicked a point for Dingle and Mark Reen kicked a point for Rathmore.

Dingle keeper Seán O’Flatherty made a great save to deny Rathmore a goal.  From the resulting 45, Rathmore worked the ball to Tadhg O’Mahony, who scored his side’s second goal.  With 30 minutes gone in the second half, the scoreboard read Dingle 1-11 to 2-6 Rathmore.  Points from Rathmore’s Donal O’Sullivan and Mark Reen, with two, gave Rathmore the lead after about six minutes of injury time played.  When Referee Michael Hennessy blew the whistle for fulltime, the scoreboard in Páirc an Ághasaigh read Dingle 1-11 to 2-9 Rathmore.
