Brosna 0-8 Laune Rangers 1-16

 

A fantastic performance from the visitors saw then out class Brosna last Sat evening.

Playing with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half saw Laune Rangers take full advantage of it, kicking six consecutive points, of which two came from the boot of Mike Frank Russel,l to leave the visitors lead 0-6 to no score with ten minutes gone.  Brosna however fought back with three great points from Gerald Nash (2) and a well taken free from Tom McGoldrick. However, this was as good as it got for the home side, as Laune Rangers converted another four unanswered points before the half time whistle.  Half time score Brosna 0-10 Brosna 0-3.

Brosna started the second half brightly with two early points from the boots of Patrick Moriarty and Tom McGoldrick, which gave the home side some hope that a comeback was on the cards.  This was short lived as the visitors’ experience shone through and took the game to Brosna with a goal and some great points from their full forward line.  Even though the home side missed their key players, they did manage to kick some late points through Patrick Moriarty, but it wasn’t enough as Laune Rangers took the valuable points.
