Sneem/Derrynane 3-14,   Scartaglin 0-10

Played in Derrynane, where a slight wind assisted the home team in the opening half, they started well and were four points to the good after five minutes. Ronan Hussey (3) and Ian Galvin (1) were the scorers.  Scartaglin opened their account with points from Daniel Murphy and Hugh O'Connor to leave it 0-4 to 0-2 after 16 minutes. Two points each from Hussey and Galvin had the home team in a good position at the three quarter stage and it got better still as wing back Kevin O' Sullivan finished a fine move to the net as half time approached.  A well taken 45 by Padraig Reidy brought the half to a close.  Half Time Score: Sneem/Derrynane 1-8 to Scartaglin 0-3.

Ronan Hussey, as in the first period, had the opening point.  Pa Rahilly replied with two points for Scartaglin.  Ian Galvin pointed for Sneem/Derrynane in the eighth minute, but Rahilly again with two more points for Scartaglen left it 1-10 to 0-7 after ten minutes. The home team kicked on with four unanswered points from Galvin (2) Hussey and Denis Sullivan one each.  Daniel Murphy responded with two of his own for the visitors, to leave the score 1-13 to 0-10 in the 27th minute.  Then came a late burst from Sneem/Derrynane, with Hussey scoring 1-1 and Galvin with a goal at the death to seal the points to the delight of the home support.  Final score Sneem/Derrynane 3-14 Scartaglen 0-10.
