St. Michaels Foilmore 0-09 Annascaul 1-06

Annascaul and St Michaels Foilmore shared the first points of the league.  Damien Kelly opened the scoring with a point from play, but less than a minute in, this was cancelled out with a point from Jason Hickson.  Stephen Cronin registered what was to be the home side’s only other score of the half with a point from play six minutes in.  Annascaul drove on and added four unanswered points, two from James Crean and one each from Jason Hickson and Genie Farrell, to leave three between the sides going in at the break.

The home side started the second half the stronger, with three unanswered points from play for Ciaran Clifford, Damien Kelly and Sean O'Sullivan and a pointed free from Sean O'Sullivan. It was eighteen minutes into the half before Annascaul registered a score, when James Crean finished the ball to the St Michaels Foilmore net.  Damien Kelly and Gearoid O'Shea then exchanged points. The home side added two further points from frees, one from Sean O'Sullivan and one from Padraig King, to leave nothing between the sides at full time.
