Gneeveguilla 0-09  Ballydonoghue 2-10 

Gneeveguilla played hosts to Ballydonoghue in Round 1 of the Co. eague and it was the visitors who came out on top.  Gneeveguilla opened the scoring through Shane Crowley but Ballydonoghue responded with two unanswered points in a row.  Ballydonoghue raced into a three point lead, before being awarded a penalty in the 23rd minute, which Daragh Sheehy slotted into the net, to give Ballydonoghue a 1-05 to 0-02 lead. Gneeveguilla came up the field from the resulting kickout and were unlucky, when Fergus McAuliffe hit the post.  Corneilus Buckley pointed from the follow up. Ballydonoghue added one more before half time to leave six between the sides.  Half time score:  Gneeveguilla 0-03    Ballydonoghue 1-06.

Ballydonoghue came out strong in the second half and a Padraig Lyons goal after seven minutes killed off the game.  Gneeveguilla tried hard and further points from Shane Crowley and Padraig O Sullivan closed the gap, but it was too much.
