Annascaul 1-15 Gneevguilla 1-7

Annascaul welcomed Gneevguilla to Paddy Kennedy Memorial Park for round 2 of the Credit Union Senior Football League Division 3.  Annascaul opened the scoring in this fast-paced game, which was played in beautiful spring weather. The home side’s only goal came early in the first half from midfielder Emmet Kennedy.   Annascaul dominated the first half.       Half time score  Annascaul 1-08  Gneevguilla 0-04.

Gneevguilla had the advantage of the breeze during the second half.   Their goal which came half way through this half, scored by Corneilus Buckley, was the result of a penalty. Annascaul continued to dominate the scoreboard, with Jason Hickson scoring nine points in total, the majority from frees.  Both sides introduced a number of substitutions, with Gneevguilla’s replacements making it onto the scoreboard. Overall, this was a fast-paced game with good passages of football from both sides, with a good win for the homeside.
