SENIOR CO. LEAGUE DIVISION 2 - ROUND 6 2017-07-13 00:31:00

Kenmare 2-13 Currow 1-10.

At sun drenched Fr Breen Park, Kenmare bagged two important league points after a six point victory against Currow.  It would have been a brave Kenmare supporter who would have backed the home side after ten minutes, as it was the visitors who were well on top,    1-04 to 0-01, the goal by Tim O’Leary.  Kenmare gradually got into the game and with twenty minutes elapsed the sides were level, 1-05 each, Captain Kevin O’Sullivan with the green flag for the hosts.  Kenmare added two more points to Currow’s one before the break to leave the half time score, Kenmare 1-07 Currow 1-06.

The visitors opened the scoring in the second half, a point to level the contest.  However, from here until the final whistle, Kenmare dominated all areas of the field.  A second goal in the forty seventh minute by Brian O’Sullivan, after more good work by Dean Cassidy, put the home side five ahead.  The Kenmare defence really tightened up in this half limiting Currow to just four points, all from frees.  The home supporters left happy, tanned and all still wondering if it was someone in the crowd who had won the €250,000 in the lotto in the local SuperValu.  Final score Kenmare 2-13 Currow 1-10.
