Castleisland Desmonds  0-09        John Mitchels  1-16

Castleisland Desmonds suffered their fifth defeat in a row and stay rooted to the bottom of the Division 1 table of the Kerry County League.  The game was played in front of a large crowd on a lovely Summer’s evening, but John Mitchels went away with the spoils.  
Desmonds, like last Saturday night against the Dr.Crokes, played very well in the first half going in at half time losing by only two points,  with the scoreboard reading Castleisland Desmonds 0-06, John Mitchels 0-08.    Desmonds’ scores came from Cian O'Connor (0-04) and 0-01 of each from Brian Leonard and Kieran Brennan.  However, the John Mitchels’ scores came from the very impressive James Duggan, playing at corner forward scoring 0-04  (0-02 from play) and points from Sean Maloney, Jack Myers and two from the boot of Alan O'Donoghue, this game was going to be hard for the home side if they were to get their first win in this year’s County League.

The second half started with a bang with the men from Tralee scoring a goal in the second minute, from the boot of Alan O'Donoghue and this was followed by two very good points from play by Mitchels’ midfielder Shane O'Connor in the sixth and seventh minute of the second half and this game looked over for the men in the white and blue jerseys.
Desmonds didn't score till the tenth minute of the hal,f with a free from Cian O'Connor    and we saw three more scores from Mitchels’ Alan O'Donoghue, Sean Moloney and Shane O'Connor and it was now 0-07 to 1-13 to Mitchels .  In the 23^rd minute, Desmonds’ player Tadgh O'Connell suffered a bad shoulder injury, to add to Desmond's troubles and, with the home defence split open, we saw Mitchels score three more scores from Stephen O'Mahony, Alan O'Donoghue and from Man of the Match James Duggan and they finished on 1-16 to Desmonds 0-09.
